Horses of Oakdale Parade

My favorite couple...I think they look very nice together.

This guy is sooooo big!

A cowboy horse! Yea!

I enjoy taking pictures of horses in action. Sometimes I get overly excited and forget to set the camera on the correct exposure. The Oakdale Parade is one of my favorite parades. We arrive early, and get our spot in front of the bank....go to Starbucks and enjoy. Unfortunately, no one enters Peruvian Pasos horses in this parade. Once, a dancing Andalusian lost a shoe and almost landed in my lap which is one reason I like to keep my distance.

Yvonne, I love how you caught the horses nodding and trotting in the parade. There were some pretties- liked Gypsy Vanner and the huge one with the long mane! The hispanic couple riding together did make a good pair. She was wearing a cool fiesta dress.
When I was little, my grandmother had one- I used to tell her I wanted it when she died. Not too subtle for a 7 yr. old, huh? I think at the time she was probably only in her late 40's. I guess I thought she was ancient! LOL

I have tried taking pictures of racing horses close up and it was not as simple as I assumed. Granted, they don't blink often, and never frown, but that said, then what? Your shots have encouraged me to try again some day. I suspect I would be more comfortable shooting horses in context rather than up close, but it's worth a try. Thanks for the series.

WOW, WOW and WOW! Aren't they just the most beautiful creatures? My BFF has horses and knows so much about them...I'm sure she'd have loved this parade too.

Blessings!

These horses are poetry in motion...I love them. I used to ride when I was younger, but it's probably been a good fifteen years since I was in the saddle.
I have added you to my reading list so I can keep in touch. You must tell me more about the Fairy Trees when you have time.
Warmest hugs,
Sandi
