This week I want to share this wonderful redwood tree with you....
My brother and his family bought their house in Santa Cruz approximately 14 years ago. At that time this redwood was encroaching on a very old fence between their yard and the neighbors. The tree kept pushing the fence over and they kept repairing it year after year. The tree was originally part of their neighbor's yard.
Through the years however, it has become part of both yards. So, to be one with nature so to speak, my brother decided to make the tree part of the fence.
I believe my dad helped with this design...he's very creative that way.

Top of tree from back of the property.

Looking up from the patio area.

It shades their patio.

You don't want to be underneath this tree when one of the limbs fall!

Perhaps, in 100 plus years, our nine little redwood trees in the back yard
will look somewhat like this one.

I love Coast Redwoods!

Wow, I guess I didn't realize that people actually plant this type of tree! Gee, Sue- what are you thinking- that they just grew wild?! This guy is huge. Lots of shade comes from it, I'm sure. When we drove up the coast, I was in awe of them. I was especially enamored with the ones on the way to Eureka waaay up north. Beautiful... Have a good weekend Mumzie.
