Time Keeps on Slipping Away

A schedule defends from chaos and whim. It is a net for catching days. . . A schedule is a mock-up of reason and order
-willed, faked, and so brought into being.
- Annie Dillard

Since my retirement some three years ago my daily schedule has been on a day by day basis. Having lived minute by minute from either a personal planner or a palm pilot for so long, it was a relief to just do my own thing. My old Zire 71 sits atop the desk collecting dust, and I must admit, I've enjoyed the break. The first two plus years were taken up traveling to and from my parents home several days a week because of my mom's illness. Over the past year since my mom's passing, I've been pretty much footloose and fancy free.
However, I'm feeling the need for some type of organization in my day to day life again.
So, I headed to the local stationary store the other day and bought myself a new personal organizer by "Day/Runner". Several years ago, I mean several long years ago, before there were Palm Pilots or Blackberries, the company I retired from paid for our entire sales force to attend a three day training course on the correct usage of the Day/Runner.
So, I feel somewhat qualified to once again oragnize myself.
My gosh, I'm starting to sound ancient....but I did learn to type on an old
"Underwood" manual typewriter. Oh dear, it was just like the one in that old movie we were watching the other day. Plus, get this one...I learn to sew on a Treadle sewing maching. Oh dear me, both are ancient devices, and now I can add my old "Palm Pilot" to the list.
Oh my gosh I am old!
Anyway, I off to a new start with my Personal Organizer. Wish me luck!

As soon as you get yourself all organized, come on over and give me a hand at mine! Utter chaos! Of course as soon as the boys go back to school things should get a tad better. In the meantime, I'm cleaning away the clutter.
