Pretty & Pink Hydrangeas - Pink Saturday

I've loved Hydrangeas since I was just a little girl.  My Portuguese grandmother had huge plants in her back yard, and as a child I remember watching her watering them every evening.  Living in the Central Valley of California, these rather hardy plants require tons of water....it dosen't take long for the entire plants to wilt and droop on our hot summer days.  What's amazing though, is once you give them water they will spring right back!

Perhaps that's why there were named...

Hydrangeas!

My plants are just starting to bloom this year and I love the pink color.  I rescued these when whey were tiny little plants on the discount table at a local grocery store for twenty-five cents each...
that was nine years ago.

Happy Pink Saturday. I grew up with hydrangeas myself and remember my dad putting in nails around the plants to turn them blue. There maybe one that can grow up here in Alaska. I'll have to look into it again.
Nice to see you.
Take Care
