October 2011

October

The fields are harvested and bare,
and Winter whistles through the square.
October dresses in flame and gold
Like a woman afraid of growing old.

Halloween Owl

Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor,
the enemy of the people.
It will keep you cramped
and insane your whole life.
      --Anne Lamott

The weather is changing and my fall decorating has begun!

Yes, the picture didn't turn out like I wanted...candle not lite,
and too dark.  But I posted it anyway.
Love my new little Halloween Owl!

It's Almost Pumpkin Season

I started decorating pumpkins for my mom who loved them.
Last year was the first fall without her,
and I had a hard time decorating any pumpkins and only did a few upon request.
I'm trying to decide if I will or not this year.

I'll have to go see my friends at the stawberry fields and Van Groningen & Son's, and see what they have grown this year.
Oh, my friends grow stawberries and Vietnamese veggies; but they also grow these awesome pumpkins from seeds they save every year.
They always save me the best pumpkins with the longest stems, such sweet people.

Perhaps I'll get my inspiration back soon.
