The Hubs Rides!

We had a great morning at the Ranch where we have our horse RDS Tapado. Tapado is a nine year old Peruvian Paso. Hubs had a great time riding him and I had fun taking pictures. Here are just a few of the photos from this morning.

I think they both had a great time!

The White Bench

My dad made me a bench a few years ago for my birthday. It was a surprise and I just love it. Currently it needs painting and is on my list for this week. I keep in our front courtyard area, and once it's painted, I'll post pictures with the side planter boxes loaded up with colorful flowers. The bench below is a twin of mine and is for sale at "The Barn" here in town. It's super heavy and built to last.
It's constructed of old barn and fence wood.

The model is Nute my dad's dog. Dad rescued Nute from the local shelter in Turlock three years ago, just after mom went into the nursing home.
He has been a great companion for my dad...it was a blessing.

Side view of the White Bench.

Me with Nute & Buddy.
Conner didn't make this visit to dad's, but he loves dad and Nute too.

Hope you have a great day!

So Nice to Come Home To

Home Sweet Home

If we had a feminism that caused us to get out of

the house, is there not also room for feminism that

would bring us back home, so that our homes would

reflect ourselves and would once more have soul?

-Ginette Paris

"The great thing to keep in mind when you think of the place you live in is that it is your refuge. You may not like it very much, you may hope to move soon. it may be shabby, too large, too small," the English writer Elizabeth Kendall wrote in House into Home, published in 1962. "but even if you're there only until next Friday, it is still your refuge."

A Psalm for Life

Let us, then, be up and doing

With a heart for any fate;

Still achieving, still pursuing,

learn to labor and to wait.

Sometimes.....I just want to ride

I'm having this urge to ride the horse, but the issue of being overweight and out of shape is haunting me. I'm not comfortable being on top of a horse in my present out of shape condition. It would be like an accident waiting to happen. Humpty Dumpty! I'm trying, but am finding the older I get the harder it is to exercise on a regular basis and take off the weight. Hubs says to stop whinning about it and just "Do It". So.....
I'm back at the gym lifting weights and riding the exercise bike. Yoga is one of my favorite exercises and I just found out yesterday my gym is staring an anti-aging yoga class on April 2th. How lucky is that? Walking the dogs every day is not only good for me, but good for them.
I'm back at Weight Watchers. Also, I've joined Joanne's group ..."A Better Me!"
Never give up!

Gonzo & Meg's Visit

Gonzo and Meg stayed with us all day. They just moved up here with my daughter and her husband from Oceanside. Both love to come to our house and visit and play with Conner and Buddy. Conner was at the Day Spa getting groomed, so he missed most of the fun here at home. Buddy, however had a GREAT time with these two. Four terriers in one house! Wow.

Meet Gonzo....he's a Yorkie and still a pup, but such a sweet little guy. He has such a little button nose.

Meg is a Silky and has really grown up this past year. She runs the house.

Gonzo has this long tonque. He's so friendly.

Cute!

Great picture of Meg, she thought there was cat in the camera!

Gonzo & Meg

I get to see them all the time....not just the holidays!

Irish at Heart!

It's the time of year to be a "little bit" Irish, or a
"whole bunch" of Irish. My mom's grandfather was Irish.
Plus the Hubs is a whole bunch of Irish.

I quess that's enough for me!

Cuties & The Tangerine Dream

We love tangerines or mandarins specifically at our house. The Hubs takes them in his lunch every day, matter of fact we have gone through a box or two this season. "Cuties"which are actually mandarins are grown here in California . Cuties are seedless.

The English philospher Roger Housden reminds us in the following meditation "Tangerine Dream," how the simply splendid tangerine sensously reveals the sacred hidden in between ordinary life's lines. Wow, think about it the next time you have a little tangerine or mandarin or orange.
The following is dedicated to all who enjoy those simple things in life...one being the Tangerine.

Tangerine Dream

I once dreamed I was sitting under a rock in the desert, surrounded by red sand that stretched to a glittering haze on the horizon. I had a goatskin which was still half-full of water, but I had just run out of my last tin of food the night before. I was aware that my situation did not appear promising, but I was not, for some reason, especially concerned....As I was looking out over the desert, I was astounded to see a little out of arm's reach over to my left, a bright tangerine perched on the sand. I had brought no tangerines into the desert. No one else could have passed this way recently....Yet there it was, all by itself, a bulging tangerine, perfectly round, a meal for one in an orange suit. I leaned over and picked it up. It smelled fresh and bight, as tangerines do. I felt its soft mandarin skin and cracked it open like a ripe pod to reveal the fruit and its protection of sinewy latticework. It released a cool mist of delicious odour into the desert air and over my hot face.

With my index finger I slowly pulled one of the segments away and brought it, trailing a rubbery white frond, to the edge of my lips. Holding it for a moment between my teeth, I eventually split the tight skin and a shower of fine juices sprayed into my mouth. Slowly, I chewed the flesh out of the segment, reduced it to pulp, and let it slip effortlessly down my throat with barely the reflex of swallowing. I savoured its energy, and felt it clear my head. Then I tore off another segment, full to bursting, felt its body billowing between my fingers, and sent it the same way as its absent neighbour. A third and fourth segment followed, then another, and another; the cool shock of their tang traveled right through me until, with the last one, I awake to a cool autumn morning in England.

I Just Can't Get Into It!

My old cup from the 1980's
It's been around for some time...one of the few cups that has survived the last 20 plus years. For some reason, I just can't through it away even though I don't really like it. I remember the day I bought it at the hospital gift shop. It made me laugh and I needed a little pick me up that day. I was thin, and never wanted to look like this cute hippo in my stripped leotard. I remember the movie Flash Dance was popular at that time. Plus, the little red heart was so heart healthy. The gym was my friend and I loved working out.
Don't tell anyone, but I even did a triathlon when I was 39!
I gotta get away from this computer and off to the gym!

Do you Believe in Angels?

Cherish Each Moment

Although it's pleasantly exciting to look forward to the future, consistent and continual joy comes from cherishing the present moment. Each instant of life offers the richness of love, humor, stories, messages, healings, and blessings.

Today, place your intention on cherishing every second that you experience. Notice the details within each situation and the beauty of every human interaction. Allow yourself to feel the emotions stirred by each moment. Be consciously aware of the present.

Thought for Today

I notice the present, focusing on the minute details of what I see, feel, think, and hear. If find the humor within situations, and I appreciate this very moment, right now.

Daily Guidance from your Angels....Doreen Virtue

I believe in Angels,
