I thought I'd take a stab at your quesiton about black and wheaten scotties from the Rocky Creek Scotties blog since they might be busy for a while. My momma is blue black and my daddy is light wheaten. They had 2 blue black puppys and 2 wheaten puppies. I am light wheaten with a reddish streak on my back. My sissie is more reddish all over. Or another way to say it is I'm blonde and she's strawberry blonde. The previous litter was all blue black scotties, no wheatens, even though our daddy is wheaten. So, yes, black scotties can come from the same litter, even if the parents are both wheaten. You can also get brindles when the parents are both blue black. Like anything, you are more likely to get a pup of the same color if both parents match. Gosh, now my blonde brains hurt and I need to go lie down a while!

sniffies,
Bonnie
